About
Welcome to The Duke's Umbrella, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Glasgow at 363 Argyle St. This charming establishment stands out not only for its modern take on traditional fare but also for its inviting atmosphere and exceptional service. With a phone call away at +44 141 732 7073, you're just a step closer to indulging in a culinary experience that promises to delight.
As a food reviewer at Foodjoyy, I am particularly excited to spotlight their renowned Sunday roast, praised for its exceptional flavor and quality. One happy patron, Stephanie Beavers, raved about it, stating it was one of the best she had ever enjoyed. It's clear that the focus here is not just on serving up good food; The Duke's Umbrella aims to create delightful experiences.
The ambiance is equally noteworthy. Diners like Ovidiu Popa have remarked on the beautiful setting and the lively atmosphere, enhanced by live Scottish music. Imagine tucking into a succulent bone marrow and steak while tunes from Nirvana or Kings of Leon glide through the air—what more could a diner ask for? The engaging staff complements the atmosphere, ensuring everyone feels welcomed—a sentiment echoed by Kaylee W, who was charmed by the wonderful service her and her aunt received.
Highlighting their menu further, dishes such as the haggis, neeps, and tatties alongside a satisfying pie receive rave reviews for their generous portions and flavorful preparation. Djeus Wong’s experience emphasizes this, having enjoyed a delightful window seat lunch that combined a friendly vibe with delicious food.
While some may find the prices slightly steep, as noted by Andy Sillence's honest feedback on the Sunday lunch, the quality and overall experience appear to offer excellent value. Each dish at The Duke's Umbrella seems to reflect a dedication to culinary excellence and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
In essence, The Duke's Umbrella is not just a restaurant; it's a celebration of food, music, and community. Whether you're indulging in their acclaimed Sunday roast or simply soaking in the musical ambience, this spot promises to leave a lasting impression. Don’t miss your chance to experience this culinary treasure!
“ Sunday roast - absolutely exceptional The food was def one of the best Sunday roasts I’ve had! The service was warm, smiley and really friendly without being too much. The live music was excellent, not too loud so you can still chat away with your group and the guy was doing nirvana/smashing pumpkins/kings of Leon on the piano which was pretty cool Would Definitely recommend ”
“ The setting was beautiful, the food exceptional and the atmosphere on par! The bone marrow and steak, oh man, I highly recommend that We also had the pleasure to listen to live Scottish music. What do you want more?! Loved the place! ”
“ Amazing vibes, wonderful staff. My aunt and I showed up a bit early for lunch but they saved us a great table when we came back. That Mac and cheese was the best Mac and cheese of my life. Thankyou so much ”
“ Very good Sunday lunch.... a bit pricey, though 139 for 3.... great service....last minute decision so hadn't booked... ”
“ Decided to try out this place without reservation, got a window counter seat and it was a satisfying and pleasant lunch. Friendly staff, prompt service, charming decor, delicious big portion pie and haggis, neeps and tatties. Will be back. ”
“ First off Peter, our server, did a great job with agreeing or suggesting various items and drinks. Water keep full and finished courses removed in a timely manner. Pricey but worth it for special occasions. 35 per person before drinks and fine bottle of champagne. I had a new item on the starter menue; Samon Rillettes is fabulous! Everyone fully enjoyed their meal. Staff was very accommodating and changed our reservation last minute. ”
“ Lovely spot with great food. I had the amazing Iberian pork. Yes it really is the best in the world. (I grew up in the Midwest.) Very happy with our evening. ”
“ Food was nice quality, but as expected by the price. Menus need updating on here as they prices have jumped and the photos on here do not reflect the current price in the restaurant. Sort of wheelchair accessible.. not easy but it happened and we managed. There is street parking close by which is free from 6pm - but please check to see if they update the signs! Staff were friendly, and it was quiet enough to have a conversation with my grandparents. ”
